She shoots, she scores….

Goal three of my list has been reached. Hurrah! If only everything was so easy. I have been offered paid oral history work by an organisation called  the African Heritage Education Centre It’s to do an oral history of Ghanaians, Nigerians and Caribbeans living in the three Olympic boroughs – Waltham Forest, Newham and Hackney. My outsider status as an interviewer will definitely come into play here.

Being my own coach

So… youngest child started school three weeks ago and this is the time to revitalise my freelance career which became somewhat neglected last school year. I would love to have a career coach but cannot justify the expense so I must be my own coach instead.

So, this is my own 12-step programme. Here are my goals up until Christmas:

1. To get two new freelance writing clients. One of which should be a regular job.

2. To settle on an idea for my play and start writing it.

3. To get either paid/voluntary oral history work.

What do they say about goals being SMART: they have to be specific, measurable, achievable, realistic, timely. I think those three goals meet those criteria. Let’s see how I get on…….
